Our next writing unit is an informational unit. Students will be researching the revolutionary war and choosing individual battles and people to examine more closely. They are putting all their research skills to excellent use this week! Students should be well on their way to creating their state fair research projects! Ask your students to show you what they have already accomplished on their google drives and in their orange folders. This will give you some good insight into what still needs to get done. Projects are due May 10th. Special thank you my chaperones for helping out on our Museum trip! The students had a great time and learned a lot of interesting things! What a fun day!

Museum of Science FieldtripOur Museum of Science fieldtrip will be the Tuesday (April 26) following our April break. Please make sure your student comes to school with a bagged lunch and is wearing comfortable clothing. Students are not permitted to bring their own money. No food or souvenir purchases are allowed. Photography IS allowed in the museum, however, students are not permitted to bring electronics. This means that if students wish to take photos they must bring a disposable camera. Keep those decimal skills working! We have worked so hard this week to lay a solid foundation in decimal notation and understanding. Please be sure your students do not let all their hard work regress over the break! I have posted practice assignments and games on pearsonrealize.com to help them continue to practice these skills! We will have a decimal test the week we return from break. Our next unit will consist of understanding decimals and their relationship to fractions. Please check-in with your students at home as they are learning these new concepts.
