With Field Day rapidly approaching I wanted to let you guys know that we will be asking each student to bring in a blank white shirt to decorate. We will be designing the shirts with our class name and your students names. Please try to locate a plain white shirt that you don't mind parting with and send it into school with your student by next Friday. Thank you so much! Remember our last book project of the year is due soon! Students should be hard at work on their projects. You may notice the date has been extended a week. They respectfully requested an extension and I granted them one! See here for project directions.

Congratulations to all the fourth grade students for completing their 2016 PARCC testing! I am so proud of everyone's hard work during these weeks! I have no doubt every student tried their hardest and did a great job! Canada
Math UpdateWe are finishing up our unit on Measurement & Geometry within the next week! They have done a great job staying focused the past couple of weeks. It has been especially nice to see how easily these concepts have been coming to them based on all the work we have already been doing with the Pro-Bots! BehaviorWe've been having many discussions about classroom behavior this week. It is that time of year when we all have summer fever and it is really affecting their work. There is still a lot of fun to be had these final 24 days so we need to make sure we are remaining focused! I am looking forward to all that we will accomplish in these final weeks! I am very excited to announce that I will have the pleasure of teaching in the fifth grade next year! Although leaving fourth grade will be tough, I am looking forward to an exciting year of new experiences and opportunities! Since this change has happened after the placement process, it is likely that I will have some students from this current class once again next year. The classrooms for next year have already been built with my current students equally dispersed throughout the fifth grade. Although we have all had a wonderful year together, we understand that a different teacher placement may be what is best for your child. Mr. Grenham will be sending out a form next week that will give you the opportunity to decide to not be in my class next year. Thank you all for your kind words and support this year! I am looking forward to continuing to work with some of you again.
Sincerely, Marissa State FairWhat an amazing job at today's State Fair! It was so great to celebrate everyone's hard work. THANK YOU for being a part of it! Hunter's RunWe are so proud of all the students who participated in Hunter's Run Thursday at recess! Thank you for all the valuable donations for Children's Hospital! If you feel inclined to still donate you can do so here.

CanadaWe are diving into one of our final Social Studies units on Canada! We began today with an iPad webquest and will continue to learn about the geography, climate, and history of Canada as well as modern day Canada.
